NOTICE OF TRUSTEE VACANCY
 
Due to a vacancy on the Board of Trustees of the Kernville Union School District resulting from a lack of candidates for the upcoming election, the Board intends to appoint a qualified individual to the Board of Trustees, pursuant to Education Code section 5328.  
The District invites individuals interested in serving on the Kernville Union School District Board of Trustees to submit a resume and a letter of intent to the Kernville Union School District Superintendent, Dr. Steve Martinez by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday October 8, 2026. The letter of intent shall have the following information:
1)         Why are you interested in serving as a member of the Kernville Union School District Board of Trustees?
2)         What experience and qualities would you bring to the Board?
3)         What significant information would you like the Board to know or what issues do you feel are important to the District?
 
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, citizens of the State, residents of the District, registered voters, and not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the State from holding a civil office.  
 
Applicant interviews are scheduled to be conducted at the board meeting scheduled on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.  The appointee will be seated for a full term at the organizational meeting on December 15, 2026.
